Plein-air landscape painting
Before beginning the next chapter of his artistic studies in Italy, Alexander spent two weeks of the summer in the west coast of Scotland trying his hand at plein-air landscape painting.
Having not done much plein-air painting before, he enjoyed being able to work in some of his favourite locations surrounded by epic scenery - and in all sorts of weather conditions!
This has been a very rewarding experience for Alex and he is excited to see how landscape painting will integrate and inform his portraiture. He hopes to continue the practice alongside his portraiture as a way of documenting some of the places he will visit in the future.
The landscape paintings he completed over the two weeks in Scotland will be on show over the course of his Studio Sale on the 2nd & 3rd September.
